Lilawati Devi Mahavidyalaya maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in any form. In accordance with the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India guidelines and University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations, the college has constituted a dedicated Anti-Ragging Committee to monitor, prevent, and eliminate any occurrences of ragging on campus premises.

What Constitutes Ragging?

As per administrative and legal standards, ragging includes any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken, written, or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating, or handling with rudeness any student. This encompasses activities that cause or are likely to cause physical harm, psychological trauma, embarrassment, humiliation, or severe mental distress to freshers or junior students.

Why Ragging is Punishable

Ragging is categorized as a severe, non-bailable criminal offense under Indian legislation. It disrupts the scholastic atmosphere, violates structural human rights, and leaves permanent psychological scars on targets. Depending on the nature and gravity of the offense, anyone found guilty of ragging face strict disciplinary actions, including:

Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
Withholding or withdrawing scholarships, fellowships, and other financial benefits.
Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national, or international meet, tournament, or youth festival.
Withholding structural academic results or evaluation reports.
Cancellation of admission or formal expulsion from the institution.
Filing a criminal First Information Report (FIR) with the local police authorities for statutory prosecution.

Reporting Procedure

Victims or witnesses can instantly voice emergency alerts directly to any listed committee member above.
Complaints can be dropped physically into dedicated Anti-Ragging Help Boxes positioned inside college blocks.
Formal documentation can be filed via email directly to the principal's official monitoring address.
Incidents can also be registered directly with the National Anti-Ragging Helpline operating around the clock.

Strict Penalty Notice: Identity protection protocols are strictly applied to all informants. Ragging is an institutional threat; report it immediately to make the campus safe for everyone.
